Absolutely! We are best known for our fabulous green cleaning services but our long term goal is to make it convenient to employ more conscious practices to the modern, hectic lifestyle. As we grow, so will our services. Join us on social media (psst…the buttons are at the top of the page). We clean exclusively with green cleaners that won’t toxify your home or our environment. In addition, a percentage of every service call is devoted to the support of ecological causes that sustain us all. The highest on the list for us is bee decline. When you choose Mother B you are making a statement that you care; about yourself, your family, and the planet.
What’s with the Bees?
It’s about making the connection between the small, seemingly insignificant choices we make in everyday life that have huge impacts. You may have heard the news by now; our bee populations are in serious decline, which is a huge problem if you enjoy eating because simply put, no pollinators, no plants, no food. We want our clients and our company to feel like we’re making a difference in a bigger, tangible way which is why we contribute to causes that help the bees regain their ecological footing, resulting in a better world for all of us. What are your rates?
Every home is different as is every person’s expectation of clean. Calling us for a consultation is the best way to learn if our service is best for you and to ensure there are no surprises. Discounts apply for first time clients, as well as regularly scheduled clients whether it’s weekly, bi-weekly or monthly. Give us a call–773.245-0696– We’d love to hear from you. Can I get an estimate over the phone or online?
Mother B believes in doing it right the first time and part of that process is meeting you and your home in person so we can accurately assess what your needs and expectations are and how long it will take to meet them. We don’t believe in giving you a quick quote, sight unseen and then taking too long to do the job, doing the job poorly because we don’t have the time or because we weren’t aware of the challenges, or charging above our estimates. When we give you a consultation in person we can best tailor a cleaning experience that exceeds your expectations, not ours.
What are your hours? Do you work weekends?
Yes! We realize a Mother B’s work is never done, so we can accommodate weekend scheduling.
Our operating hours are from Monday-Friday 8am-5pm & Saturday 9-3pm
What areas do you serve?
Our office is located in the West Ridge neighborhood of Chicago. We service the Chicagoland area from the loop to the north and northwest neighborhoods. Do you offer more than residential cleaning?
Absolutely! We offer: Holiday & Special event cleaning(great for green events!)/Office cleaning/Move In & Out Cleaning/Post Construction Cleaning. Did we mention we clean?
What kinds of products do you use?
We use cleaning products that are Green Seal Certified as well as graded ‘A’ or ‘B’ on the Environmental Working Group’s ‘Guide to Healthy Cleaning’. Because there is almost no regulation in the manufacturing of cleaning products and the chemicals they contain, third party certification is a must for us.
Are your products safe for kids and pets?
Yes! Considering most pets and kids spend a considerable amount of time on the floor, walking, laying down, rolling around and playing, what you use to clean is incredibly important because it’s inhaled in the air you breathe and can be absorbed into the body through contact with the skin.
Can I choose my own cleaning products?
We pledge to do our best to accomodate our clients’ needs. If you have a particular cleaner you prefer, we will be happy to use it provided it does not fall below a “C” grade under the Environmental Working Group’s Guide to Healthy Cleaning rating. For example, if you’re a fan of Method’s “Wood for Good” almond wood polish, we would respectfully decline because it’s rated as a “D” in part, because there’s a lack of disclosure in its ingredient list.
Will you use bleach if requested?
Bleach contains chlorine which can cause eye and lung irritation. In addition, chlorine and its chemical byproducts are linked to the contamination of our Great Lakes and the development of various cancers. Once in our water system it can take centuries for chlorine to biodegrade. We just can’t justify its use, so for our bleach lovers we offer non-chlorine bleach as an alternative. What does a regular cleaning include? Do you have Add-On Services?
A Mother B General Cleaning includes a thorough cleaning of all surfaces, floors, counter tops, baseboards, mirrors, general straightening and a light wipe down of walls for dust where needed. Mother B believes in doing things right, so we clean underneath objects, furniture, and beds where dust loves to hide. We also leave a thank you note and cookies at the end of service because well, we believe in being nice. We do provide add-on services such as laundry, linen change, and refrigerator cleaning. If there’s something specific you need in addition to a general cleaning, please let us know and we will build it into your estimate.
Are there particular things you don’t clean?
Yes. As quoted directly from our Service Agreement:
AREAS IN WHICH WE DO NOT SERVICE
We must ensure the safety of the service professionals and cleaners that we employ. In order to do so, we cannot service the following areas:
Furniture and/or equipment moving
Servicing homes with bed bug infestations
Hand cleaning large areas of floors
3 foot+ height of ladders
Cat litter box cleanings
Pet feces or handling of pet waste
Laundry services when the facilities are not located inside the premises
Standing on kitchen countertops in order to clean the tops of cabinets
Reorganizing closets. We clean closet flooring
Moving and lifiting heavy items
Cleaning inside toilets without a proper brush
Can you provide deep cleaning and detail cleaning?
Although our regular cleaning package is incredibly thorough, we know that there may be some items that fall in the category of ‘it’s been a while’. For a deep cleaning we include the oven, the refrigerator, cupboard interior and a detail cleaning of blinds. We can tailor your cleaning service to include all, some or none of those additional services or detail clean to your specifications.
Can my pets be out while you clean?
We love your pets, we just don’t know if they’ll love us back. For that reason we kindly request that pets be secured if we are entering your space without you present. Sometimes we have to love from a distance at first. If however, you can facilitate an introduction to your furry friend, and everyone is comfortable with the arrangement, we are happy to have your pet present during our service call. We gently remind our clients that having pets present can complicate the cleaning process as animal fur has a way of attaching itself to well, just about everything.
Who works for you?
Our service professionals are the best of the best. The majority of our workforce are mothers, so they are comfortable with responsibility and know the value of a job well done. Each individual is thoroughly background checked and trained on the job in order to meet the level of our high standards.
Can I have the same service professional every time?
Of course! We realize the amount of trust you place in us every time you invite us into your home and we strive to make you comfortable. Please note that we will make every effort to keep your preferred service professional assigned to your account, however, there may be circumstances beyond our control.
Is your service guaranteed? How do you ensure quality service?
Absolutely! We want you to not only be satisfied with your Mother B experience but happy with us as well. Our staff is professional and trained to our high standards. To ensure quality service we perform surprise on-site service checks and do our best to allow you, the homeowner, to double check our work before our service professionals leave. If you are not satisfied with your Mother B experience, please call us: 773.245-0696 and we will arrange for a service professional to return within 24 hours to clean the area that needs attention, provided the adjustment is within the scope of the original Service Agreement.
What is your payment policy?
Payments will be processed the day of service. Depending on our clients’ preferences, payment info can be conveniently and securely stored for future cleaning appointments and repeat service schedules.
What forms of payment do you accept?
We accept cash, debit and credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover).
Do you have a cancellation policy?
We understand life happens and cancelling is sometimes necessary. Our policy requires that cancellation must be within 24 hours of the cleaning appointment. If you cancel after the provided 24 hour window, there is an automatic $45 cancellation fee applied. No exceptions.
*If a Mother B service professional arrives at a scheduled cleaning appointment and is unable to gain access to the home the client will be responsible for paying the full amount of the cleaning.
Should I tip my service professional?
Gratuity is not required but is greatly appreciated! We love when a job well done is acknowledged (and so do our clients per our Cleaning Company Reviews) and it’s a principle we practice in compensating our employees. Service professionals work hard and are allowed to accept gratuity from our gracious clients.
